More About Renée
Renée's work spans two sides of the spectrum: the proactive and reactive. She works with companies of all sizes on the development of lawful products and marketing tactics, while also assisting clients who are subject to litigation or government enforcement actions. Her practice focuses on advertising and marketing, personal care and cosmetics products, consumer financial protection matters, and general regulatory compliance. Renée has a knack for problem-solving, which begins with asking the right questions of her clients, interpreting the rules and regulations that apply to her clients' situations, and devising expedited resolutions.
Renée serves as litigation counsel to an industry trade association in the personal care products space. She also defends companies in enforcement matters brought by federal and state regulatory agencies and in litigation concerning product safety, labeling, packaging, and claim substantiation. She has handled all aspects of complex litigation, including fact and expert discovery, depositions, motions practice, hearings, and trial proceedings. Renée also regularly counsels cosmetics, skincare, and dietary supplement companies on labeling, consumer marketing, and risk management to avoid litigation and enforcement actions. This ensures adherence to rules and regulations enforced by the Food and Drug Administration and Federal Trade Commission.
On behalf of her clients, Renée draws on her diverse background in regulatory compliance, litigation, and investigatory work. She began her legal career in the securities litigation and enforcement practice area, offering advice to members of the financial industry in government investigations and both criminal and civil lawsuits. Her early experience working with a highly regulated industry has shaped her keen knowledge in compliance, while pursuing her passion in helping clients in the cosmetics and personal care products space.
Renée is constantly staying abreast of legislative reform, class action litigation, and business trends in the personal care and cosmetics space, sharing both her passion and knowledge with her clients to ensure compliant industry practices, and sheltering them from exposure to litigation or government enforcement action.
At Seyfarth, Renée is proud that her colleagues share a common desire for genuinely helping others and collaborating on innovative strategies for each client.
