People: Megan H. Poonolly, Associate
Biography
Megan H. Poonolly is an associate in the Atlanta office of Seyfarth Shaw and is a member of the Labor & Employment Practice Group. The majority of Ms. Poonolly’s practice is dedicated to representing management in litigation regarding claims of discrimination, harassment and wage and hour violations. Specifically, Ms. Poonolly proactively navigates and manages single-plaintiff litigation under Title VII, Section 1981, the ADA, the ADEA, the FLSA and the FMLA and other applicable laws. In addition, Ms. Poonolly represents employers in class, collective and multi-plaintiff lawsuits under both federal and state law.
Ms. Poonolly spends the rest of her time providing preventative counseling to employers on noncompete agreements and trade secrets issues, and she is experienced in defending and prosecuting actions relating to restrictive covenants.
Ms. Poonolly is actively involved in pro bono work, volunteering with the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation, the Eviction Defense Project and the Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta. Ms. Poonolly is also active in the community. She serves on the State Bar of Georgia Committee for the Promotion of Inclusion in the Profession, and is a member of the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys. Within the firm, Ms. Poonolly serves on the Atlanta Diversity Action Team.
