Bart Lazar, litigation partner in Seyfarth Shaw’s Chicago office, has been honored by the IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law as a recipient of their 2015 Alumni Professional Achievement Award. This award honors graduates of Chicago-Kent who have made outstanding contributions to the practice of the law, the judiciary, public service or government, business or commerce, or the media.
Lazar was recognized as a pioneer in the areas of data privacy and security, Internet law and social media, as well as one of the nation's leading and most innovative intellectual property and advertising attorneys. He was also recognized as a leader in giving back to Chicago-Kent. Lazar helped to establish Chicago-Kent’s first intellectual property focused externship at Seyfath Shaw in 2003 and since then has mentored more than 20 Chicago-Kent student externs. He has lectured in the Intellectual Property Strategies course and other privacy courses at Chicago-Kent and has participated in several Supreme Court Intellectual Property Review seminars. In 2011, the Chicago-Kent Intellectual Property Law Society recognized him as its inaugural Intellectual Property Alumnus of the Year. You can read more about the honor by clicking here
