Ms. Duke is a senior member of the Business Immigration Group at Seyfarth Shaw LLP. She has over 14 years of immigration and human resources experience. She has extensive experience researching and preparing both nonimmigrant and immigrant visa petitions. She has prepared H-1B, L-1, B-1, TN-1, O-1 and J-1 petitions on behalf of client companies of varying sizes and spanning many industries. She has prepared numerous labor certifications under the Department of Labor's "PERM" system. She also has experience with respect to Extraordinary Ability, Outstanding Professor and Outstanding Researcher petitions, Multinational Executives, permanent residence petitions for Alien Entrepreneurs, and applications for waiver of the J-1 Two-Year Foreign Residency requirement. Additionally, Ms. Duke is well trained in the preparation and processing of outbound work permits and visa applications to allow U.S. citizens, Permanent Residents, and temporary workers to be employed by their U.S. firm’s affiliates worldwide.

Ms. Duke originally joined Seyfarth Shaw in 2000. She returned again in 2014 after six years of employment with a software company located in the Greater Boston area.  Ms. Duke is currently engaged as the On-Site Immigration Specialist for a major Seyfarth Shaw client servicing the audit, consulting, financial advisory, risk management, and tax services industries.

In this role, she works closely with the client’s Human Resources, Global Mobility, Recruiting, and Management representatives, acting as a primary point of contact for their foreign national population.  Ms. Duke aligns the needs of the foreign national employees with the client’s policies/practices as well as immigration regulations, and collaborates with recruiters and management in the hiring of foreign nationals into the firm. Additionally, Ms. Duke partners with internal Seyfarth Shaw teams to maintain and develop internal systems to maximize workflow efficiencies critical to the delivery of superior client service.

Ms. Duke is a 1995 graduate of the Bachelor of Arts program at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where she double majored in History and Russian Language, and participated in a one-year exchange program at the University College, Swansea, Wales U.K.  Ms. Duke is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Law with  Champlain College, in Burlington, Vermont. Ms. Duke expects to complete her Master’s program in 2015.
