Mr. Cockroft is an associate in the Labor & Employment Practice Group of Seyfarth Shaw LLP. Mr. Cockroft focuses on a variety of matters, from complex discrimination litigation, wage and hour litigation, ERISA withdrawal liability litigation, and single plaintiff discrimination claims.

Mr. Cockroft first joined the firm as a Summer Fellow in 2014. After graduation, Mr. Cockroft officially joined the firm as a Senior Labor & Employment Fellow, becoming an associate in 2016. Aside from his labor and employment practice, Mr. Cockroft has also worked on pro bono matters, including advocating for the Constitutional rights of prisoners within the State of Illinois. 

While in law school, Mr. Cockroft was a two-year member of both the ABA Labor and Employment Trial Team and the AAJ Trial Team. In 2015, Mr. Cockroft's team won the Chicago Regional ABA Labor and Employment Trial Advocacy Competition, giving the closing argument in the final round. While at Northwestern, Mr. Cockroft participated in the Bluhm Legal Clinic. In particular, Mr. Cockroft worked in the Civil Rights Litigation Clinic, focusing on civil litigation involving Wrongful Convictions and Prisoner's Rights. In addition, Mr. Cockroft served as an Associate Articles Editor and served on the Article Review Board for the Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology

While attending the University of Texas, Mr. Cockroft coached speech and debate for several high schools across the state of Texas. In 2012, one of Mr. Cockroft's students won the Texas Forensic Association's State Championship. Mr. Cockroft also participated in the creation of the Texas Debate Collective, a non-profit, whose mission is to ensure low-income students experience the transformative opportunities of high school debate.
