Arthur Telegen is a partner in the Labor & Employment Department of Seyfarth Shaw LLP. Mr. Telegen has over four decades of experience as a labor lawyer, having previously practiced at a major Boston-based firm for 35 years where he served as chairman of its labor and employment department.
 
Mr. Telegen has represented national and international employers across the spectrum of industries in labor and employment matters. He has successfully handled labor arbitrations involving many millions of dollars of potential liability and client-critical labor matters before the NLRB and the federal trial and appellate courts. Clients rely upon Mr. Telegen for strategic advice in labor negotiations, work stoppages, and other high pressure union-events. A significant part of his practice involves counseling clients regarding the labor and employment issues involved in restructuring and major corporate transactions.
 
In 2001, Mr. Telegen was elected a Fellow in the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.  He has for many years been ranked “Band 1” by Chambers USA and been recognized by the various rating organizations.

  • Represented a multi-national telecommunications company in labor issues arising from a multi-billion dollar merger of two unionized employers
  • Advised a national retailer faced with a union’s multiple legal challenges and corporate campaign
  • Represented a national media firm in union matters subsequent to spin-off from a telecommunications company
  • Represented a national power generator in its acquisition and its subsequent disposition of several unionized power plants in the Northeast
  • Represented an international brewer in matters before the NLRB and the federal courts during a four year contract negotiation/dispute
  • Litigated an ERISA claim for a regional utility alleging eight-figure fiduciary duty violations
