Cassie Howman-Giles is a senior associate in Seyfarth Shaw Australia’s International Employment Law practice in Sydney. She has over 7 years of experience advising clients in respect of employment and workplace relations law in both Australia and the UK.

Cassie’s recent experience includes:

  • Advising on employment matters including pre-employment issues, minimum legislative requirements and operation of industrial instruments.
  • Advising on independent contractor and employment relationship, including drafting independent contractor and agreements and employment contracts.
  • Drafting, and advising on, employment policies and procedures.
  • Advising on employment termination matters including performance management, misconduct, negotiated termination arrangements and release agreements.
  • Providing representation and advice to employers in relation to unfair dismissal and general protections claims, including representing employers at conciliation conferences before the Fair Work Commission.
  • Proving advice and representation to employers in relation to common law breach of contract claims, including representation at mediations before the Federal Circuit Court of Australia.
  • Providing advice and representation to employers in discrimination complaints and applications for review of administrative decisions in the Administrative Decisions Tribunal.
