More About Fernando

Fernando assists clients with maintaining valid immigration status in the US by ensuring that their immigration filings submitted to the government are accurate and complete. He also serves as a resource to his clients, answering their questions on the US immigration process.

Fernando has 15 years of experience with business and family immigration, and has handled employment based petition packages, primarily H-1B petitions, PERM applications, and I-140 petitions, as well as related adjustment of status and extension of stay/change of status applications. He has handled Global Mobility cases, including employment visas for Brazil, Canada, Egypt, France, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, UAE, and the United Kingdom.

Fernando often uses his years of immigration experience to guide the PERM team in navigating the intricacies of the Permanent Labor Certification (PERM) process. This is the first of the three-stage "green card" process that clients must complete to apply for status as lawful permanent residents of the US, based on their employment. The process involves helping clients understand the impact of their actions, and focus on the details and timelines to help them achieve a favorable outcome for their cases.

At Seyfarth, Fernando is proud that he and his colleagues help make clients' dreams of living and working in the US come true.
