Mr. Torres is a creative strategist, counselor, and litigator who has more than fifteen years of labor and employment law experience. In 2017, Mr. Torres was recognized by the Hispanic National Bar Association as one of the country’s top lawyers under 40. He is employment law counsel to multiple Fortune 100 companies and has successfully represented management through all stages of labor and employment litigation, including as trial, arbitration, and appellate counsel. Mr. Torres has significant experience managing large single-plaintiff portfolios and trying cases before judges, juries, and arbitrators, including several multiple plaintiff trials against the government that resulted in complete defense verdicts. His experience includes litigating single-plaintiff, multiple-plaintiff, and class actions under the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Sarbanes-Oxley and Dodd-Frank Acts (whistleblower provisions), Section 1981, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act (Title VII), and their state law counterparts in Illinois and across the country. Mr. Torres also has significant experience conducting workplace investigations and representing management in the area of labor relations, including as lead counsel in numerous successful discharge and contract interpretation arbitrations. In 2012, Mr. Torres was seconded to Accenture where he managed all of Accenture’s employment litigation in North America.    

Mr. Torres is a member of the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Action Team, and he has served on the Hiring Committee as well as the Chair of the Associate Mentoring Committee. Mr. Torres is a member of the federal trial bar and an Adjunct Professor in the Trial Advocacy Program at Northwestern University School of Law. Mr. Torres regularly represents pro bono clients in asylum and immigration proceedings through the National Immigration Justice Center, and he volunteers time to multiple community and legal organizations, including on the Board of Directors for the Hispanic Lawyers Scholarship Fund (HLSF) and the Gala Dinner Board for the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF).
