Marjorie Soto is an associate in the Labor & Employment Department of Seyfarth Shaw LLP’s Los Angeles office. Her practice spans both single-plaintiff and class litigation, including defending employers in lawsuits alleging wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour violations. Additionally, she has experience in traditional labor and in providing counseling in pay equity best practices.
 
Ms. Soto originally joined the firm as part of the Labor & Employment Department’s Fellowship program, an innovative hands-on training and educational program for law school students with an affinity for Labor & Employment law. Through this experience, she gained critical skills in drafting a variety of motion papers, demurrers, petitions to compel arbitration, and other critical employment litigation briefs. Ms. Soto is also actively engaged in pro bono efforts, including adoption and asylum cases.
 
Prior to joining Seyfarth Shaw, Ms. Soto externed for Senior Judge Ronald S.W. Lew in the Central District of California. Before law school, she recruited students of diverse backgrounds nationally and internationally for various Ivy League and other top-tier colleges and universities by forging relationships with different stakeholders and marketing the university brands. She also led small/corporate and major gift fundraising and donor stewardship efforts, receiving a certification from The Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University. She is certified in community organizing and the evidence-based Strategic Prevention Framework by the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America. She is also fully English and Spanish bilingual.
