Ms. Christian is a Counsel in the Sacramento office of Seyfarth Shaw and is a member of the Labor and Employment Department.  Ms. Christian represents employers from a broad array of industries, including agriculture, retail, insurance, trucking, medical and technology, in all aspects of employment litigation, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour, and class action matters in state and federal courts.  Outside the traditional employment litigation arena, Ms. Christian also represents companies, both as plaintiffs and defendants, in trade secret misappropriation, unfair competition and other business tort matters.  Based on her extensive law clerking background and former appellate work in a private firm, Ms. Christian specializes in large brief writing projects covering all aspects of employment law and litigation.  Ms. Christian also assists clients with litigation avoidance by advising them on employee discipline decisions, reviewing and modifying employment policies, negotiating and preparing employment and confidentiality agreements, and complying with all aspects of federal, state and local employment laws.

Prior to joining Seyfarth, Ms. Christian served for nine years as a Career Law Clerk to the Honorable Frank C. Damrell, Jr. of the United States District Court, Eastern District of California.  She also worked for two additional years in the Eastern District as law clerks to Judge Milton L. Schwartz and Magistrate Judge Drozd.  As a clerk, she handled all aspects of civil litigation, including case scheduling, preparing memoranda and orders on civil law and motion matters, and trial management regarding evidentiary issues and jury instruction.  She also prepared bench memoranda and drafted memorandum orders and opinions for Ninth Circuit panels when the judges sat by designation.  Most recently, Ms. Christian was Special Counsel at another Sacramento employment firm where her practice focused in the area of trade secrets and unfair competition litigation and appellate work involving a myriad of employment issues, including discrimination, harassment and retaliation cases.
