Nicola Petit is a senior associate in the International Employment Law Group at Seyfarth Shaw Australia’s Sydney office. 

Nicola provides strategic and commercial legal advice on all aspects of employment law, including work health and safety and industrial relations. 

Nicola's experience includes: 

  • assisting employers with regulator investigations into workplace incidents 
  • providing strategic advice on all facets of the enterprise bargaining process, including drafting and negotiating collective industrial agreements
  • providing advice on industrial disputation, including appearing in the Fair Work Commission in industrial disputes and managing industrial action
  • providing general employment advice, including advising on termination of employment issues (including workforce planning), privacy law, discrimination law, employee entitlements, employment policies and contracts, and executive agreements.

Nicola also regularly assists clients with dispute resolution in Australian courts and tribunals, and has appeared on behalf of clients in the Fair Work Commission, NSW Industrial Relations Commission, the Supreme Court of New South Wales, the Federal Court of Australia, and the Warden's Court in Western Australia.
