Pantea Lili Ahmadi is an associate in the law firm of Seyfarth Shaw LLP.  She is a member of the firm's Labor & Employment Department and is based in the firm's Los Angeles office.  Ms. Ahmadi also is an Adjunct Professor of Legal Writing and Advocacy at the USC Gould School of Law.

In 2016, as part of a team of three attorneys, Ms. Ahmadi secured a complete defense verdict in a jury trial at the Central District of California against multiple plaintiffs alleging misclassification and violations of the California Labor Code.  Ms. Ahmadi also has experience defending employers, both in federal and state court, against wage and hour individual and putative class action lawsuits alleging failure to pay overtime wages, failure to provide meal and rest periods, and failure to provide itemized wage statements.  She also defends employers against allegations of harassment, retaliation, failure to accommodate, wrongful termination, and discrimination, among other claims.

Ms. Ahmadi is committed to serving the public interest through representations of clients pro bono and has successfully represented pro bono clients throughout her career.  For example, in December 2013, Ms. Ahmadi petitioned the United States Supreme Court (USSC) for writ of certiorari to resolve a conflict on the proper interpretation of the removal provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Act. In the matter of Madrigal-Barcenas v. Lynch, 2015 WL 2473282 (2015), the USSC granted certiorari, vacated the underlying decision of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and remanded the case to the Ninth Circuit, which overruled long-standing precedent on the issue.

Early in her fifth year of practice, Ms. Ahmadi was named a 2014 Southern California “Rising Star” in business litigation by Super Lawyers magazine, and she was named among the “Top Women Attorneys in Southern California” and a “Rising Star” by Los Angeles Magazine.  She also received these same distinctions in 2015, 2016, and 2017.
