Patricia L. Mehler is Senior Counsel in the Labor and Employment Department of Seyfarth Shaw LLP.  Patti concentrates her practice in representing management in labor and employment law.  She counsels, trains and defends management in a variety of workplace issues and claims.  Patti devotes a substantial part of her practice to workplace issues and litigation regarding employees’ physical and psychological conditions, disability benefits, leave rights, and fitness to work under the Family and Medical Leave Act, Americans With Disabilities Act, maternity/paternity leave requirements, domestic/sexual violence victims’ leave laws, and municipal issues relating to disability for police and fire departments.  She also advises and defends clients in litigation regularly on discrimination issues (e.g., race, gender, age, disability, national origin, sexual preference, sexual harassment, religion), workplace violence, employee discipline and discharge, retaliatory discharge, separation agreements, employment contracts and employee handbooks.

She is a frequent speaker for various trade associations, police and fire administrations, private and public employers, management associations and Human Resources professionals.
