Ms. Furuta is counsel in the Labor & Employment Department in the Los Angeles office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP.  She represents clients in state and federal court and before administrative agencies including the California Labor Commission.  Her practice focuses primarily on the defense of claims in wage and hour class and collective actions, as well as class action discrimination claims.  Ms. Furuta has experience briefing successful dispositive motions, including summary judgment motions and motions to deny class certification that involve a variety of employment matters, such as misclassification of exempt employees and overtime and off-the-clock issues. Ms. Furuta has represented businesses in a variety of industries, including insurance, high technology, retail, healthcare, temporary employment and entertainment.
