Mr. Meilman is a partner in the Tax Practice Group of Seyfarth Shaw LLP, based in the New York office of the Firm.  His experience is in structuring, negotiating, documenting and closing domestic and cross border commercial transactions, including asset and equity acquisitions and dispositions and debt, lease and project financings.  Mr. Meilman has represented a broad array of clients in the financial services, utility, insurance, manufacturing, real estate, transportation and other sectors.  He has considerable experience with respect to projects involving energy, production and rehabilitation tax credits.  He also has substantial experience in obtaining tax rulings and in tax controversy matters.  Mr. Meilman has routinely represented public and private corporations, partnerships, individuals, lessors, lessees, lenders, financial intermediaries, and loan servicers as well as exempt organizations and governmental entities in matters involving federal, state and local income and other taxes.  He has an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale Hubbell and is recognized as one of New York’s Top Rated Lawyers: Taxation (The American Lawyer).
