Sharisse R. Deal is an associate in the Labor and Employment Department of the Los Angeles office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP.
 
Ms. Deal represents employers in a variety of employment matters at the state and federal level, including wage and hour, wrongful termination, discrimination and harassment, and reimbursement claims in both individual and class/representative actions.  Ms. Deal has defended employers in the insurance, restaurant, hospitality, retail and healthcare industries, and has obtained summary judgment and class certification denials for employers in wage and hour class actions.  Ms. Deal has experience crafting strategies to defend against class certification, developing evidentiary records, and negotiating with counsel.
 
In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Deal counsels and trains employers on obligations under federal and California employment law, including compliance with the Family Medical Leave Act, Americans with Disabilities Act and the California Fair Employment and Housing Act.  Ms. Deal also advises employers on compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act and its state law counterparts.
