Shelley Thompson is counsel in the Los Angeles office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP and a member of the Trusts & Estates practice group. Ms. Thompson is an experienced attorney, wealth advisor, and banking executive, who recently completed more than six years at Bank of Hawaii. While there, she served as a Vice Chair, Chief Fiduciary Officer, member of the Managing Committee, and manager of the Investment Services Group. She was responsible for delivering trust, investment, private banking, and brokerage services to high net worth individuals and institutions.

Prior to Bank of Hawaii, Ms. Thompson oversaw investment management, personal trust, business trust, and estate and financial planning groups, as well as the broker-dealer subsidiary, for City National Bank in Beverly Hills, California. Additionally, she has served as chief executive officer and managing director of U.S. Trust’s Minnesota regional offices; as executive vice president and group head of Private Financial Services at U.S. Bancorp; and as executive vice president and group head of the Private Banking Group of Wells Fargo Bank in Los Angeles and San Francisco. 

A trust and estate attorney, Ms. Thompson began her career with two law firms in Los Angeles and later served as in-house trust counsel and trust administrative manager of Citicorp’s trust and personal investment subsidiary.

Ms. Thompson’s experience includes having served as a Trustee of the Lillian Disney Trust and as a director of a private trust company based in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Active in the community, Ms. Thompson has served as Chair of the Hawaii Theatre Center and Child & Family service and Vice Chair of the Hawaiian Humane Society.  She has also served on the boards of numerous charitable organizations, including the University of San Diego, the Pasadena Humane Society, KCET Public Television, and both the Guthrie and Ordway Theaters.
