Stephen Crilly is a senior associate in the Sydney office of Seyfarth Shaw Australia and is a member of the firm’s International Labour & Employment practice. Stephen was named an Employment & WHS Rising Star by Doyle’s Guide in 2016 and 2017.

Stephen assists Australian and multinational clients on a broad range of strategic and compliance issues, frequently in the context of market disruption and major workplace change. He regularly advises clients in relation to enterprise bargaining, responses to industrial action, award regulation and compliance, and executive employment arrangements. Stephen also acts in arbitral and other proceedings before the Fair Work Commission, and in court proceedings across a broad range of employment and labour-related disputes.

Stephen has advised and acted for leading employers in the financial services, media, stevedoring, transport, information technology and healthcare industries. Recent matters in which he has been involved include multiple simultaneous court and tribunal proceedings through which unlawful industrial action by employees was brought to an end and the underlying dispute was resolved in the employer’s favour, successfully opposing award variations sought by a major trade union, and advising clients across several industries on the interaction between their use of technology and evolving Australian privacy regulation.
