Bill focuses on trusts and estates law and has more than 40 years of experience representing corporate executives, owners of closely-held businesses, real estate operators and developers, art dealers and collectors, and other high-net-worth individuals.

Representing both individual and corporate fiduciaries, Bill has been involved in all aspects of estate and trust administration and litigation, including Internal Revenue Service Appeals hearings, New York State court matters and US Tax Court proceedings. Over the course of his legal practice, he has represented virtually every major New York City bank and trust company in trust and estate matters.

Among the array of Bill's estate planning activities are his plan design services, preparation of "what if" calculations and coordination with other estate professionals (including appraisers, accountants, business consultants, and insurance advisors), as well as the drafting of Wills, trusts, family limited partnerships, and ancillary estate/trust documents. He is actively involved in assisting his clients with the transfer of their assets in order to accomplish their estate plan objectives, including the preparation of gift tax returns.

Bill has extensive experience in the not-for-profit section and has represented major public charities and private foundations as general counsel and as trusts and estates counsel, including matters with New York State and the Internal Revenue Service. Additionally, he has served as a Director on the boards of private foundations, one of which had assets in excess of $500 million, and also public charities, including a museum and a college.
