From coast to coast, asking about wage or salary history may soon be a thing of the past. Recently, California, Oregon, and San Francisco joined Massachusetts, Delaware, Puerto Rico, New York City and Philadelphia in passing legislation that prohibits employers from inquiring about wage history information from job applicants. Similar legislation is being considered in other states. Join us as we summarize the changes and legal implications and describe the practical considerations employers are considering in this new frontier.
Topics will include:
- Current state of the law
- Legal implications of the salary history bans
- Practical tips on how to comply with these new laws
