The Firm opened its office in Los Angeles in 1973 with two partners from its Chicago office. It has grown both in breadth and depth since then. It now has approximately 100 lawyers with expertise in business transactions, intellectual property, commercial litigation, employee benefits, international and employment law. Indigenous growth predictably will accelerate fueled by the office's well-deserved reputation in handling complex employment litigation matters. Further growth will occur through continuing to hire skilled practitioners to strengthen the office's multi-disciplinary practice.
Through their pro bono work and contributions of their time, talent and treasure to many charitable organizations, attorneys and staff in the Los Angeles Office make a studied effort to give back to the community of which the Office has been a proud part for 35 years.
Community Service
In addition to our pro bono legal work, the Los Angeles Office, through its attorneys and staff, is actively involved with numerous local and nationwide charitable organizations. LA Office attorneys and staff organize and attend fundraising events for a number of charitable organizations, including, for example, those for Para Los Ninos, which provides child care and schooling to at-risk youth, the Western Center on Law & Poverty, and the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles. LA Office attorneys and staff are also directly involved in building houses with Habitat for Humanity, and in participating in fundraising walks to support charities including the Arthritis Foundation and the Multiple Sclerosis Society. LA Office attorneys and staff also have direct personal involvement with charities that include, but are not limited to, Comfort Zone Camp, the Alliance for Children’s Rights, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Children’s Hospital, YMCA, Reach Prep, Feed The Children, Costco Scholarship Fund, Children of the Night, Cystic Fibrosis, and Lawyers For Literacy.
