Seyfarth Shaw’s Atlanta Office to Host World Water Relief Benefit to Provide Aid to Haiti and the Dominican Republic

ATLANTA (October 14, 2011) — On October 22, the Atlanta office of leading law firm Seyfarth Shaw LLP will host and co-sponsor a benefit to provide clean drinking water in Haiti and the Dominican Republic for nonprofit organization World Water Relief. The event, "Water is Life," will include a cocktail buffet, entertainment and a silent auction.

Seyfarth Shaw Corporate Department partner, Clay Sparrow, has been involved with the organization since its inception, serving as a charter member of the board of directors in 2009, in which he helped develop the strategy and focus for World Water Relief.

"Until relatively recently, the debilitation from germy water was not an issue at the forefront of charitable efforts by the developed world, which takes cheap or free clean water for granted. Now, our relatively inexpensive technology can solve this problem for schools and villages in the developing world," said Sparrow.

Other Seyfarth attorneys, including Corporate partner Louann Bronstein and associate Brittany Summers have also supported the nonprofit with pro bono legal work, as has corporate paralegal, Linda Troutman.

Initially funded by a donation from Atlanta-based water purification and disaster relief organization, First Water Inc., World Water Relief's works to bring sustainable water purification solutions to those living in developing nations.
