Jonathan Brophy Named One of the Best LGBT Lawyers Under 40

Seyfarth Shaw’s Jonathan Brophy, partner in the firm’s Labor and Employment department in Los Angeles, was selected as one of the Best LGBT Lawyers Under 40 – Class of 2016 by the National LGBT Bar Association. The Best LGBT Lawyers Under 40 - Class of 2016 will be recognized at a special awards ceremony on Friday, August 5, 2016 in conjunction with the 2016 Lavender Law Conference & Career Fair.

Each year, the LGBT Bar recognizes 40 LGBT legal professionals (practicing lawyers, law professors, corporate counsel, members of the judiciary, politicians, etc.) under the age of 40 who have distinguished themselves in their field and have demonstrated a profound commitment to LGBT equality.

Brophy regularly defends employers in discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and wrongful termination cases in state and federal court and related agencies. He also represents employers in high exposure wage and hour class actions in both state and federal court. In addition, Brophy has litigated single plaintiff and class action matters on behalf of employers in a wide array of industries including retail, finance, pharmaceutical, logistics, telecommunications, industrial manufacturing, education, aerospace, internet, automotive, and news media.

The National LGBT Bar Association is a national association of lawyers, judges and other legal professionals, law students, activists and affiliated lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender legal organizations. The LGBT Bar promotes justice in and through the legal profession for the LGBT community in all its diversity.
