Durward Gehring was quoted in a September 1 story “Big Numbers and High Stakes for Executive Compensation Lawyers” from the New Jersey Law Journal on why pending changes to federal regulations in the financial services industry, as well as recently publicized pay jumps for the CEO of one under-fire pharmaceutical company, serve to illustrate that executive compensation lawyers play an important role in the boardroom. Gehring said that an executive compensation practice might require a tax pedigree and trusted-adviser status with clients, but that doesn't mean it's for the faint of heart.
