Data Privacy Lawyer Julia Jacobson Joins Seyfarth in Boston

BOSTON (February 1, 2016) — Seyfarth Shaw LLP announced today the arrival of partner Julia Jacobson to the firm’s Corporate department in Boston. Jacobson joins Seyfarth from McDermott Will & Emery LLP where she was a partner in its Boston office.

Jacobson’s practice is focused on privacy and data protection law, marketing and promotional law, procurement contracts, technology licensing agreements, trademark licensing and other commercial contracts. With a focus on the digital ecosystem (mobile, social, online, media), she has successfully advised corporations on privacy-related contracts, digital services design, privacy audits, and processes for managing consumer data, among other areas of privacy and data protection law.

Jacobson has frequently conducted in-house trainings for clients on privacy, advertising, and promotion law compliance. She regularly presents both locally and nationally on current privacy and data protection issues as well as advertising and marketing legal trends. She has earned the designations of Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) and Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) where she is a member of its Publications Advisory Board. She is also a member of the Brand of Activation Association.

Jacobson received her J.D., cum laude, from Boston University School of Law where she also received a LL.M. in Taxation. She earned an B.A. from the University of Michigan.
