Cindy Westervelt was quoted in "5 Concerns for Counsel in Mass Store Closures," a January 6 story in Corporate Counsel about the five points that in-house or outside counsel for retailers must keep in mind when trying to close up shop in many jurisdictions. Westervelt said that when you're making those changes you need to double check state laws to make sure you're paying out what you're supposed to pay out upon closure of the store.
