Yang Li, Ph.D. is a patent agent in the Intellectual Property Department of Seyfarth Shaw LLP’s Washington, D.C. office.  Dr. Li addresses complex scientific and technical issues related to freedom to operate, patentability, and invalidity studies as well as drafting patent applications and assisting with interactions with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.  He draws on his extensive set of technical knowledge and research experience to assist clients in the pharmaceutical and chemical areas.  During his graduate studies at Yale University, Dr. Li gained extensive research experience in asymmetric organocatalysis and computational molecular modelling.  Prior to his doctoral work, Dr. Li studied at the University of Cambridge, and his research focused on the synthesis and characterization of ligand-capped quantum dots.
 
Dr. Li is currently pursuing his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center.
