We believe that every person can make a difference in the community and everyone has something to contribute. Our goal is to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives through our community service initiatives.
Inclusion Partnership Spotlight
Inclusion and Diversity are core values at Seyfarth, so it is important for us to incorporate those values into our pro bono and community service programming. Over the past three years, we have continued to partner with Seyfarth’s Business Resource Groups to offer such programming.
Collaboration in Action: MLK Day of Service
In 1994, Congress designated the holiday for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday as a national day of service, encouraging citizens to volunteer in their communities as a way to honor Dr. King’s legacy. Each year for the past three years, the firm’s African-American Affinity Group (known as A+) has worked with the Pro Bono & Philanthropy team to identify MLK Day of Service events for employees in our US offices, giving them the opportunity to participate in events across the country. These events have included helping beautify local schools, donating and delivering essential items to seniors, and cleaning up and removing invasive plants at local parks.

Community Service Highlights
Seyfarth is a proud, long-time supporter of Best Buddies, a nonprofit that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, and inclusive living for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Over the past three years, multiple Seyfarth offices have participated in Best Buddies’ Friendship Walks, and Seyfarth’s Charitable Foundation has contributed nearly $70,000 to Best Buddies.
In addition, every year for the past three years, in connection with National Disability Employment Awareness Month, Seyfarth’s Pro Bono & Philanthropy team has partnered with our All Abilities affinity group to host mock interview events with Best Buddies. During those events, Seyfarth volunteers conduct virtual mock interviews of Best Buddies’ jobs program participants, helping them develop their interview skills.
Over the past three years, many of our offices participated in the Food from the Bar campaign. Food from the Bar is a collaborative hunger initiative involving law firms, law schools, and legal services organizations. Its purpose is to raise funds, acquire food resources, and contribute volunteer hours to support local food banks.
In 2022, Seyfarth’s Houston office earned a 1st place Foodraiser Award for donating 816 pounds of food during the Food from the Bar campaign, and a 2nd place Spirit Award for contributing 40 volunteer hours per capita. That same year, Seyfarth’s DC office raised over $8,000 in support of the campaign, and our San Francisco office raised over $12,000.
