Ada Dolph Discusses GE Pension Threats Showing Concerns of Transfers to Insurers in Bloomberg Law

Bloomberg Law quoted Ada Dolph in its article, “GE Pension Threats Show Peril of Transfers to Insurers, Spinoffs,” on August 12. Dolph discussed how employer plan transfers have participants eyeing legal options and that executives’ ‘top hat’ plans do not have same ERISA protections.

“There’s just heightened scrutiny around ensuring payment of pension benefits in general, and probably what triggered some of the scrutiny here was GE saying, ‘now we’re going to transfer this to these other plans and then we’ll have no further obligations.’”
