Alison Silveira Discusses Appeals Court Ruling That College Athletes Can Be Employees in the National Law Journal and NY Law Journal

Alison Silveira was quoted by both the National Law Journal and New York Law Journal in its article, “Appeals Court Ruling That College Athletes Can Be Employees Leaves ‘Lots of Open Questions,’” on July 22. Silveira discussed how lower courts will face a host of difficult legal questions as litigation over player compensation grows, following a federal appellate ruling that college athletes can sue claiming they are owed wages.

“Each school's athletics program and revenue generation are unique and can change year-over-year, making it hard for courts to treat all sports equally when applying the Third Circuit test.”
