Ben Conley Discusses ERISA’s 50th Anniversary in HR Dive

HR Dive quoted Ben Conley in its article, “ERISA turns 50 soon. Experts say its evolution isn’t over yet,” on August 26. Conley discussed how ERISA preemption is top of mind for employers operating in multiple jurisdictions.

“Employers are concerned, however, that chipping away at ERISA’s preemption could expose them to a patchwork of state laws that undermines one of the main purposes of ERISA, which is that the law allows employers to offer uniform benefits to employees.”
