Caitlin Lane discusses abroad laws affecting worker statuses in SHRM

SHRM quoted partner Caitlin Lane in its article, “Pay Attention to Local Laws When Sending Workers Abroad” on January 6. Lane said if an employer is considering keeping someone as a local US employee, but assigning them to a foreign country, that agreement might be structured in a way in which the company deems them as a US employee, paid on US payroll, and has them remain part of the US entity.
