California Background Check and Cannabis Update
About the Program
It’s been a busy year in California for employers that obtain and use criminal history and drug test results for hiring and other employment purposes. Effective October 1, 2023, California employers will be subject to enhanced requirements when inquiring about and considering criminal history after the California Civil Rights Division rolled out new Fair Chance Act regulations. What’s more, effective January 1, 2024, California cannabis users are entitled to employment protections that will have a significant impact on employer-mandated drug testing and consideration of cannabis. Please join us for this micro-webinar where we will update you on best practices for compliance.
