Cameron Weil and Steven Meier Write on Delaware Statutory Trust Transactions in The Real Estate Finance Journal

Seyfarth’s Cameron Weil and Steven Meier co-authored an article, “Delaware Statutory Trust Bridge Lending: Considerations for the Borrower, Senior Lender and Bridge Lender,” in the 2023 winter edition of The Real Estate Finance Journal. The Seyfarth attorneys discussed the perspective to take into consideration when using bridge debt on a Delaware Statutory Trust transaction and balancing the needs of the borrower, senior lender, and bridge lender.

“As Delaware Statutory Trust (DST) transactions grow in popularity, so does the use of bridge debt to solve the ‘chicken-and-egg’ issue (the sponsor not having its equity capital secured at the closing table) that arises given the DST structure.”
