This past year, there has been a flurry of new regulations issued by the Department of Transportation and the Office of Federal Contractor Compliance Programs, as well as settlement agreements between private companies and disability rights advocates, with regard to the accessibility of websites and mobile applications.  Most recently, the Justice Department filed a lawsuit against a tax return preparation company under the Americans with Disabilities Act that resulted in a consent decree requiring that the company’s website, mobile applications, and online tax preparation tool comply with a private website accessibility standard.

Seyfarth’s ADA Title III Team Members Minh Vu and Kristina Launey, and SSB BART Group’s President/CEO and chief accessibility expert Tim Springer, will cover the following topics in this webinar:

  • What is an accessible website or mobile application and is WCAG 2.0 the standard?
  • What are the legal requirements for accessible websites and mobile applications?
  • What is the current litigation/enforcement landscape and what should businesses be doing?
  • How do businesses make their websites accessible?
