The Bipartisan Budget Act of 2015 goes into effect in 2018 and is set to overhaul how the IRS audits and collects tax from partnerships. The Act will allow the IRS to collect taxes associated with audit adjustments at the partnership level, rather than passing adjustments through to the individual partners. This new legislation effectively imposes entity-level tax on partnerships themselves.
Please join Seyfarth Partners Steve Meier and Jeff Cunningham, along with Mike Pompilio and Marcia Nally of Moore Colson CPAs and Advisors as they discuss the issues around entity-level tax for partnerships, including:
- With the new partnership audit rules, IRS audits of partnerships are expected to increase tenfold.
- Who will decide your fate in an IRS audit?
- How will you prepare and prevent arguments among partners?
This new law will have a huge impact on how partnership interests are valued, transferred and protected. Partnerships should start planning early to ensure their interests are protected.
Seating is limited and CLE/CPE will be provided.
