Seyfarth Partner Karen Bitar will be presenting “#MeToo Litigation: Investigations Exposing Corporate Cultures of Complicity and Cover-Ups,” a breakout session at the 2020 ABA Section of Litigation Division CLE Conference on Friday, February 14, 2020. This session will explore how the #MeToo movement has caused internal investigations of sexual harassment claims to move beyond the conduct of the alleged perpetrator to a need to determine whether there exists a culture of cover up within the highest levels of an organization including C-suite executives and board of directors. The panel will discuss how claims are being investigated and the repercussions that go beyond the original harassment claims, such as shareholder derivative suits and insurance coverage claims.
Designed by and for in-house counsel and their outside counsel, the 2020 Corporate Counsel CLE seminar takes place over three days at the Park Hyatt Aviara, in Carlsbad CA. The seminar will provide cutting-edge and informative plenary, forum and breakout programs, valuable networking sessions, and a variety of outdoor activities. This year’s meeting will feature all-new programming of the same high-quality that has attracted corporate practitioners from all over the United States.
