Kerry Friedrichs, Eric Lloyd and Scott Mallery’s recent blog post, “AB 2257: Sweeping Changes To AB 5 Independent Contractor Law,” was referenced in a September 23 story from Material Handling & Logistics, “California Changes Contractor Law.” The Seyfarth attorneys said the new law does not exempt several industries that had engaged in extensive lobbying efforts, including gig economy companies, franchising, trucking and the motion picture and television industries.
