Laura Maechtlen Writes in Harvard Business Review on Assessing New Legal Risks of DEI Policies
Seyfarth Labor & Employment chair Laura Maechtlen co-authored an article, “How to Assess the New Legal Risks of Your DEI Policies,” in Harvard Business Review on February 27, furthering Seyfarth’s thought leadership concerning inclusivity in the workforce. Maechtlen discussed the most common corporate DEI programs and assessed their level of legal and regulatory risk, as well as the research on their effectiveness.
“The good news is that the most effective programs are also the programs that, Lucas’s guidelines suggest, carry the lowest legal risk. These focus on changing structures, not people and produce progress toward DEI goals in hiring, performance management, access to opportunities, and culture.”
