Employers with operations in New Jersey should be on high alert on the wage and hour front given several recently signed laws, including the landmark Anti-Wage Theft law which increases the statute of limitations to six years for wage and hour claims, calls for treble damages and expands the definition of “employer” to include successor entities. In addition, New Jersey has recently joined the growing number of states that have imposed a salary history ban.
Join members of Seyfarth’s New Jersey Practice Group for a discussion that will include:
- The New Jersey Anti-Wage Theft Law;
- The New Jersey Salary History Ban;
- The Governor’s Task Force on Independent Contractor Misclassification; and
- Recent New Jersey state court decisions involving the enforceability of arbitration agreements, including cases interpreting the U.S. Supreme Court’s New Prime decision.
