President Obama Expands LGBT Non-Discrimination Protections with Executive Order

Yesterday, President Obama signed an Executive Order prohibiting discrimination by the federal government or federal contractors on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity.  Currently, only 18 states and the District of Columbia have laws explicitly protecting LGBT workers from being fired because of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
