With 20 million residents, streams of commuters from neighboring states, and over 320,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases, reopening New York City businesses will present enormous and unique challenges. As New York City begins a phased return to work, companies must consider return to work plans designed to address the distinctive circumstances presented for New York City employers.
Please watch the webinar below for a practical discussion of business-critical topics for New York City employers, including:
- Governor Cuomo and Mayor de Blasio’s stated plans for reopening New York State and New York City businesses including: "New York Forward" to replace "New York Pause" effective May 15th
- Potential benefits and risks of health testing, questionnaires, and/or other queries or restrictions on who enters
- Commuting challenges and implications, including for “vertical transportation” of elevators, escalators, and stairs
- Social distancing in densely populated spaces
- Fear of or refusal to return to work
- Disability claims, reasonable accommodations, and cooperative dialogues mandated by NYC, NYS, and federal law
- Minimizing potential wage and hour risks from reopening and changed operations
- Pending New York City Council “Bill of Rights” legislation
