Russia's invasion of Ukraine is having broad impact on workforces and the economy of the broader region and the world. As the war continues, companies must respond to new and quickly evolving circumstances that impact their operations, workforces, and reputations. Join Seyfarth as our interdisciplinary team of legal advisors discuss some of the most pressing issues and recent developments to help guide businesses navigating these challenges and the legal implications.

Session 3: Legal Excusability/Termination of Contracts Based on the Ukraine Conflict and Russia Sanctions

In this era of globalization, the impacts of the Russia / Ukraine war and resulting Russia sanctions have extended far beyond those nations’ borders.  As the situation continues to evolve, companies have an ongoing need to assess the effects the conflict and sanctions have had on their contractual relationships and whether there is a need to excuse performance or terminate them outright.  During this webinar, Andrew Escobar and Gordon Peery discuss the current state of sanctions that may impact contracts governed by US law and whether the sanctions and the war’s effects may trigger contractual force majeure provisions and/or common-law doctrines that could excuse performance.
