Seyfarth Bolsters Organizational Strategy & Analytics Team With Labor Economist Christopher Haan

(January 14, 2019) -- Seyfarth Shaw LLP announced today the arrival of labor economist Christopher L. Haan to the Labor & Employment department and the firm’s Organizational Strategy & Analytics (OSA) team.

Haan brings more than 18 years of sophisticated litigation consulting experience in the application of economic and statistical analysis to matters of litigation. His work has been in the context of both employment discrimination claims and wage and hour disputes. In the discrimination context, he has worked on matters alleging discrimination on the basis of age, race, gender, and other claims, covering the full range of employment practices, from recruitment and hiring, to promotion, pay, and terminations. His analytical work has involved statistical and econometric analyses as well as analysis of damages. He has especially broad experience in the development and use of large and complex employment databases.

Prior to joining Seyfarth, Haan spent more than 18 years at nationally recognized economic consulting firms, providing data analysis, economic research and statistical analysis for litigation, business issues, and risk assessment in a variety of significant, high-stakes litigation and consulting settings across the nation. His work included sophisticated economic and statistical analysis in support of expert testimony for litigation matters, development of analytic databases, critique of plaintiff’s experts’ analysis, rebuttal of opposing experts, preparation of expert reports, deposition testimony, arbitration testimony, and data analysis used in mediations and arbitrations. Haan has testified at trial, deposition and arbitration, and has submitted expert reports in both state and federal courts.

A member of the American Economic Association, Haan received his PH.D. and M.S. in Economics from Purdue University. He received a B.S. in Mathematics/Statistics and a B.A. in Economics from Grand Valley State University.
