Seyfarth Expands Real Estate Team with New Seattle Partners Courtney Seim and Ian Sutton
SEATTLE -- (May 23, 2022) -- Seyfarth announced today the arrivals of partners Courtney L. Seim and Ian T. Sutton to its Real Estate department in Seattle. Seim and Sutton were most recently Real Estate and Environmental partners at Seattle’s Summit Law Group.
Seim’s real estate practice focuses on eminent domain, easement issues, and title disputes, and she has worked on a number of power generation and transmission projects serving the Puget Sound region. Her environmental practice involves enforcement and remediation actions, claims for natural resource damages, and business and real estate transactions involving contaminated sites and other environmental constraints. Seim earned a J.D. from the University of California (UC) Davis School of Law where she was the managing editor of the UC Davis Law Review. She received a B.A. from the University of Washington.
Sutton’s commercial real estate practice focuses on both commercial real estate transactions and development. He advises clients on complex negotiations and documentation for all types of sales, acquisitions, and leasing. In addition, Sutton also advises clients on evaluating, managing, and resolving environmental liability risk including allocating environmental liability in real estate transactions, environmental cleanup , and cost recovery. He earned a J.D., magna cum laude, from the Seattle University School of Law where he was a notes and comments editor for the Seattle University Law Review. He received a B.A. from Denison University.
