Brian Michaelis, national chair of the firm’s IP practice and a partner in the Boston office: “Engages in and leads teams in the procurement and enforcement of IP rights, delivering the right mix of skills and resources to match firm resources to client needs.”

Edward Maluf, national co-chair of the firm’s IP practice and a partner in the New York office: “Has been a go-to intellectual property adviser for many years. He has provided excellent counsel on countless matters, including many disputes. Ed is as tough as they come, but also reasonable and practical in his advice. When it comes to intellectual property issues, he is always the smartest guy in the room, and you can count on him to know how to achieve the desired result.”

Kenneth Wilton, national lead of the firm’s trademark practice and a partner in the firm’s Los Angeles – Century City office: “Represented us in a complex trademark litigation matter against a large and well-funded adversary, and achieved an excellent result. He was a terrific partner throughout the discovery and trial planning process, as well as a consummate litigator. His unflappable demeanor and strong communication skills make him a formidable advocate, and also render him highly credible to judge and jury alike. Anyone would be fortunate to have Ken as their attorney.”

Lisa Meyerhoff, partner in the firm’s Houston office: “30-plus years’ experience provides her with an understanding of the gaps or errors that companies face when enforcing their intellectual property or defending against IP infringement claims from third parties.”

Jay Myers, partner in the firm’s New York office: “A seasoned and agile lawyer who provides practical and commercially relevant advice. He knows how to maximize the value of a trademark portfolio and does so with sophistication.”

Bart Lazar, partner in the firm’s Chicago office: “One of the best trademark lawyers in the world. His natural curiosity, innovative thinking, relentless work ethic and problem-solving abilities are top notch. Bart is the attorney to go to for opinions on the thorniest trademark topics with no clear or obvious answer.”

Julia Sutherland, partner in the firm’s London and Chicago offices: “Julia was particularly instrumental in building a search strategy for the largest naming assignment in our history (100-plus countries; 9 classes), for a globally known and household name consumer products organization. Without the hands-on, consultative approach Julia brought to the project we could not have met our expectations. She makes her clients look good.”

Matthew Moersfelder, partner in the firm’s Seattle office: “Helps clients in the full spectrum of branding-related issues and understands that protecting a client’s brand goes beyond trademarks.”

Lauren Gregory Leipold, partner in the firm’s Atlanta office: “Brings a wealth of knowledge and experience across the spectrum of trademark law. She is strategically savvy when designing effective protection and enforcement programs and instils confidence in brand owners, thanks to her practical approach.”
