Seyfarth Lawyers Selected to Leadership Council on Legal Diversity
Seyfarth is pleased to announce that lawyers Samuel M. Schwartz-Fenwick (Labor and Employment Partner - Chicago), Sharad K. Bijanki (Litigation Associate - Houston), and Jun Y. Kwon (Real Estate Associate - San Francisco) have been selected to the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD). This year’s Fellows and Pathfinders have been selected by more than 300 LCLD member corporations and law firms to participate in these programs.
Schwartz-Fenwick was named a member of the 2022 class of Fellows. Launched in 2011, the landmark Fellows Program is an intensive, yearlong professional development program that mentors the legal industry’s diverse leaders of tomorrow. The program connects high-potential attorneys with leading general counsel and managing partners, and their peers for mentoring and career guidance. The LCLD Fellows Program, which has trained nearly 2,000 mid-career attorneys, has built a reputation for helping to launch participants into chief legal positions. Notably, more than 50 alumni of the program have become general counsel, managing partners or judges, or have opened their own firms since their fellowship year. Within their organizations, Fellows have distinguished themselves from others by being deeply engaged, indispensable to key clients and teams, invested in attorney mentoring and professional development, and on a trajectory towards leadership positions.
Bijanki and Kwon were named members of the 2022 class of Pathfinders, participating in a seven-month professional program designed to train high-performing, early-career attorneys on foundational leadership and relationship-building. The Pathfinder Program provides participants with practical tools for developing and leveraging internal professional networks, foundational leadership skills, and an understanding of career development strategies. The program, now in its seventh year, provides participants with the opportunity to learn from top leaders in the legal profession along with experts in the fields of learning and development and executive coaching. Pathfinders have been identified as diverse, early-career emerging leaders who have distinguished—or have the potential to distinguish—themselves within their organizations.
Founded in 2009, LCLD is a growing organization of more than 350 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners who are personally committed to creating a more diverse and inclusive legal profession. To learn more, visit here.
