Seyfarth Partner Joshua Ditelberg Nominated by White House to Serve on National Labor Relations Board
CHICAGO – (May 23, 2024) – Seyfarth Shaw LLP announced today that Joshua L. Ditelberg, a partner in the firm’s Labor & Employment department, has been nominated by President Biden to serve as a member of the National Labor Relations Board. Ditelberg’s nomination must now be confirmed by the United States Senate. If confirmed, he would become the fifth Board member who has been a Seyfarth attorney.
Ditelberg, who is based in Chicago, is a leading labor and employment lawyer, creating economic value and minimizing risk arising from corporate mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures; subcontracting and outsourcing; workforce reductions; facility closings, relocations, and consolidations; corporate reorganizations; bankruptcy; and ESOPs.
“We are immensely proud that yet another brilliant and collaborative Seyfarth labor lawyer has been tapped by the White House to serve on the NLRB,” said Lorie Almon, Seyfarth’s chair and managing partner. “Josh has long been a valued member of our partnership, and we have no doubt that he would be a tremendous asset to the Board.”
“Josh’s tremendous knowledge and experience coupled with his thoughtful approach to analyzing complex legal issues makes him an ideal candidate for the NLRB,” added Laura Maechtlen, chair of Seyfarth’s national Labor & Employment department.
Before joining Seyfarth, Ditelberg practiced at Edwards & Angell LP in Boston. Prior to entering private practice, he was a law clerk to Hon. Ralph B. Guy, Jr. of the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and to Hon. Joseph R. Weisberger of the Rhode Island Supreme Court. He received his JD magna cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School and is a member of the Order of the Coif. He earned his BA summa cum laude, as well as his MA from the University of Pennsylvania. While at Penn, Ditelberg was a National Endowment for the Humanities Younger Scholar, University Scholar, Benjamin Franklin Scholar and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He is a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers and of the American Bar Foundation.
