Seyfarth Promotes New Leaders Within Labor & Employment Practice
New York, April 7, 2025 - Seyfarth Shaw LLP’s highly recognized Labor & Employment (L&E) department is promoting six lawyers to leadership roles for two practice areas and its Atlanta and Los Angeles offices.
- Mahsa Aliaskari and Jacob Cherry have been appointed as co-chairs of Seyfarth’s Global Immigration & Mobility Practice.
- Andrew Scroggins will co-chair the Complex Discrimination Litigation Practice, joining Christopher DeGroff in that role.
- Christina Forte Meddin and Kevin Young have been named co-chairs of the firm’s L&E department in Atlanta.
- Similarly, Angelina Evans and Timothy Hix will co-chair the L&E group in Los Angeles.

- Mahsa Aliaskari is based in Seyfarth’s Los Angeles (Downtown) office. She offers a rich background in leading engagements and immigration portfolios across a wide range of sectors including manufacturing, life sciences, financial services, and technology, Aliaskari guides her clients through the complexities of immigration laws and regulations.
- Jacob Cherry is based in New York where he provides comprehensive business immigration and worksite compliance representation, with a particular focus on high-volume employers in the technology, life sciences and financial services sectors.
- Andrew Scroggins, based in Chicago, represents high level clients defending against claims of age, sex, race, national origin, disability, and genetic information discrimination and retaliation under Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Equal Pay Act, as well as alleged wage and hour and wage payment violations brought under the Fair Labor Standards Act and similar state laws.
- Christina Forte Meddin centers on employment-related litigation and compliance counseling involving federal and state statutes that govern employment discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, with a particular focus on employee leave and accommodation issues.
- Kevin Young defends employers across the country on a broad spectrum of workplace law issues, with a particular focus on navigating complex federal and state wage and hour laws.
- Timothy Hix partners with clients to develop a hands-on approach to all employment related matters they may face, ranging from labor code violations, wage and hour violations, discrimination, and harassment.
- Angelina Evans defends her clients against a wide range of employment-related disputes, including claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination.
